You know your music. You easily differentiate quality reproduction and you are about to buy a used amp and the choices are : Sim Moon I-5 Rogue audio - Tempest Conrad Jonson CAV-50 WHAT WOULD YOU DO? please help |

The lack of responses that you are experiencing is likely due to this topic being a very personal choice. These three amplifiers are all terrific. I'm a little partial to tubes, especially in the preamp stage though. The Sim Moon would be my pick. Personal preference as I already own some of their gear and enjoy the natural sound and reliability. This is too tough to choose. I haven't really auditioned much Rogue stuff. About 15 minutes at the Audio Loft.. that's about it. Sounded very impressive, but so does the CJ and the SM. You can't make a bad pick here. Carefully audition each possiblity as carefully as possible and go with the one that seems to be the most natural sounding and pleasing to you. All the best to you in your quest, Skeeter. |
