Default Dilema

If you listen to rock, blues, and occassional soft 80-90s
You know your music. You easily differentiate quality reproduction
and you are about to buy a used amp and the choices are :
Sim Moon I-5
Rogue audio - Tempest
Conrad Jonson CAV-50
WHAT WOULD YOU DO? please help

Default Dilema

Hi Stereo 4 Ever,

The lack of responses that you are experiencing is likely due to this
topic being a very personal choice. These three amplifiers are all
terrific. I'm a little partial to tubes, especially in the preamp
stage though. The Sim Moon would be my pick. Personal preference as I
already own some of their gear and enjoy the natural sound and
reliability.

This is too tough to choose. I haven't really auditioned much Rogue
stuff. About 15 minutes at the Audio Loft.. that's about it. Sounded
very impressive, but so does the CJ and the SM. You can't make a bad
pick here. Carefully audition each possiblity as carefully as possible
and go with the one that seems to be the most natural sounding and
pleasing to you.

All the best to you in your quest,
Skeeter.
