snip Please stop reminding me, my wallet gets strangely scared and my credit card hides whenever you mention them, it would be worse even if it were D123's, and I really ain't no use for them but drooling and putting into totally useless cabinets and power with a Bang & Olufsen "Dirigent" valved receiver from 1963. A pair of LE8T's however .... it could be fun trying the real stuff in place of Corals 8F60 semi-clone of them for midrange. They actually 'did' sound pretty good in the Pioneer HPM cab's; but don't get too excited. I bought 'em used over 15 years ago. They've had a pretty easy life since then, but one was obviously reconed before I got 'em. The surrounds don't match, and I concerned that one or the other has a generic voice coil. I don't have a certified genuine k-120 to compare, so I don't know which --if indeed either--one is original. They both work well, sound the same...IIRC, the serial numbers are reasonably close. There's no doubt of the authenticity of the basket, though. g In any case, I've got a deal going with a former customer of mine, who--almost thirty years back--bought a set of HPM-100's, a set of HPM-40's and a Technics SA 5760 from me. I found and installed new woofs for the HPM-40's last year. (Hows that for warranty service? g) He's willing to trade me the receiver for the k's in order to fix his 100's...until he can find OEM woofs to replace the ones he blew way back. After that, he's gonna put the JBLs in his bass guitar cabinet. jak |
