Or nicely done with wirenuts or other proper solderless connector. Every time you splice a wire you loose 2-4db per splice. Not in this life. If you do the splice well the loss is absolutely positively negligable. If you do it badly enough to have appreciable loss, then the splice will probably fall the rest of the way apart by itself, pretty quickly. |
