I never understood why people don't send their "real post" as a test.

Me neither, but it was 'scope, and Rodgers and Hammerstein, so who's counting? And Deborah Kerr; what can anyone say? And Marnie Nixon dubs; classic plus. Yul Brynner? Fine by me. The dance sequence parodying contemporary American musicals was so far ahead of its time as to be unrecognisable in 1956. And, independently, great stufff. Don't bother with the old pan/scan tapes if you can spring for the 'scope version on DVD. Just for the bizarre Mark Twain-ish dance anyway. Yeah, I know, it's embarrassing; so what? Life's short. Thinking (?) back on this, one can only wish that the poster's
life were better organized than his (and sadly, it's always a "his") post. When one gets to conflating _The King and I_ with Disney cartoons it's a true sign of Oliver Sacks syndrome. Please accept my apologies. Chris Hornbeck "Hum is more than just not knowing the words." -ha |

Whew, I was afraid this was a return of the "meow brigade".
