Hi folks
What do you guys who are fleshing out ideas prior to recoding real drums use? I am looking for modern, dry, focussed sounding (ala Birch) sounds, kind of like what you hear on Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Ashlee Simpson ("La La" with Abe Jr, for example) I have a really nice DW kit here in the studio but it's not always practical to record a drummer when we want to turn demos around really fast. Being able to drag MIDI parts (pre programmed basic parts & fills) and stretch them to the tempo, or use ready to go loops would be perfect. I have heard "Groove Agent" in a store but wasn't that impressed. Anyone using DFH or BFD care to comment? Or any other alternatives? Mostly the parts will then be replaced by live drums, so it's really for "Good Demo" quality. Any thoughts/opinions/flames welcome. Cheers Geoff |

Bob Clearmountain's samples work better in a mix, but Real Mega Drums has more sample variations.
