I do jazz and big band mostly mastering stuff, not tracking.
Vinyl restoration etc. Using miserable krks now. So where would you go? I've been listening but after a while.....well you know..... So who is using what? Good Jazz monitors, decent accurate low end but no hype..... I need a good low end..so I am maybe looking at midfield. Opinions(like assholes, we all have one) solicited!!!! |

My Dynaudio BM6s are passive, but I don't think there's a significant difference in bass extension between them and the active version. While they deliver a lot of bass for the size, I don't believe that they would suit your needs without a subwoofer. Predrag |

They are not big monitors, but they are, to me at least, great monitors and sonically a touch better than all the others mentioned. The midrange is perfect and my mixes transfer fine (and I have had 3 different rooms since using BM6a) I just have a big old pair of KEF's for oomph and feeling the low end. |

I like them at least as much as the BM15 I had a couple of years ago. Not to mention the NS10's they replaced. After 12 years. Predrag |
