Default Sonar Crashing

I'm using Sonar Produce 3.1.1. with a M-Audio Delta1010LT. Windows XP
home. I've been using this setup for about a year now. No problems. I
introduced an ART DPSII preamp into my setup. First time using the
S/PDIF on my soundcard. Any new projects since doing this will cause
Sonar to crash when trying to save. If I open a project created
previously, it saves fine.

Any Idea what's happening here?

I have more or less the same setup, except Delta 66 and XP Pro. Using
the S/PDIF with a J-Station for quite awhile, have not had this problem
at all.

Recommend you also post this Q. to cakewalk.audio. Good luck!

I have this exact same setup and I can't remember any crashes either.
Definitely the most stable combination since I've being using Windows. I
suggest you post the problem on cakewalk.audio NG.

Did that. I've never had any problems till I introduced the DPSII. I've
contacted all three vendors. ART, M-Audio, and Cakewalk. Now it's just
a ****ing contest. I'm waiting for them to blame Micro$oft. This time I
think Bill's off the hook.

I don't know the ART and M-audio products, but in my XP / Echo Layla
/Sonar setup, you have to be careful manually setting both the input
digital format (s/pdif optical or coax) and the timing device to use
(sound card vs. S/pdif vs. other, such as word clock) in order to make
Sonar happy.

Make sure that you have the M-Audio, ART, and Sonar all set to the same
clock and bit rate.

Update.

Seems that in all the thrashing about XP was doing, the system date got
set to 2100. Once I set it back, I was able to save projects again.

I'm still not able to use my Delta card as the master clock, but that's
not a show stopper.

Thanks for the help.
