Last Political Post. Promise.

Well, that promise lasted almost 21 hours. I think we've found the GOP
presidential candidate for 2008.

Proud of you. Point taken. Easy when there is none.

Your first post here is an inflamatory rhetorical challenge
which you begin with, "This is the last political post you
will ever see from me." Horse**** on the face of it. You
caricatured yourself from the gitgo with that lie which
means your troll was most likely just parody anyway.

Adding to this is some more circumstantial evidence: He's posting
through google groups, and the google groups archive only shows three
posts (more recent ones apparently haven't shown up yet) in three
threads from his posting address, all in rec.audio.pro.
It would be easy to assume that the address was created solely to
troll RAP. Even if false, it might be good to act on this assumption.

If so, well done, because you have captured the stereotype
of ...

Correct. I proved nothing.

I didn't think the America haters or the
Bush haters could come up with any resonable arguements. Just the
standard name calling Bravo Sierra.

Like in your subject line.

So let me lower myself long enough to say "I know you are but what am
I?"

There's lower?

or how about the classic " I'm rubber, your glue, what you say bounces
off me and sticks to you?"

Can we please talk about something cool now like the mint condition
Neumann M-49 I just aquired?

Appearantly not.

David, I lost track of that thread detailing the studio you built
from the ground up a couple of months ago. That was amazing! Do you
have the link for that?

-Paul

My friend... that's no "studio"! Well, at least not in the *real* sense of the
word. It's a hurriedly modified office space that we (somehow) managed
to carve a corner into that could be used for a control room. The producer
seemed to get on with things as if it were a legitimate space, so I guess
we did OK given what we had to work with... especially within the time
allotted. It was big fun and I wish there were more like him; people that
understand that as long as you can hear accurately, you can track. It
won't be mixed there, of course, but we got some darned good stuff on
2" tape. http://www.m-a-m-s.com/challenges.htm

What I need to do is throw a floor plan up there so people can see where
all of these rooms actually are while looking at the photos - it would make
more sense. It should actually become a semi-private studio around this
time next year. There's a boatload of stuff left to do to get it even close.

Well, OK, maybe it's not what some would like to call a "studio". But
all things considered, you did an amazing job with that space!!! And
thank you for the link. It's a wonderful inspiration to see something
like that being accomplished. You're a true professional, David, and
you deserve one heck of a pat on the back.

Hi Joe,

It was really only down twice, but for several days each time because
I was trying to do the work myself in order to save the buyer money.
Unfortunately due to prior committments, the only time I had to drive out
and work on the machine, was time that we had booked for sessions.
Once the client started scratching his head, we paid for technical time.
Thanks goodness, all went perfectly well for the week that the producer
was in town.

You won't believe this, but after all was said and done, it was nothing
more than some intermittent cold joints on the power supply chimney.
I can't feel too bad though, because even though Steve Sadler had
me look there early on and I missed it, so did another qualified tech.
The symptoms came on so slowly and intermittently that there were
a few baffled people for a while.

Yes.. everything is cool and we highly appreciate the great deal on
the machine... it has lots of life left in it and worked(s) like a charm;
excepting the cold joints which manifested themselves in ways
that made things awkward to trace.

We did, however, pull the modifications out. That's something that
everyone who looked at the schematics and circuit definitely said,
"This must go". It hasn't so much as hiccuped since the mods
were removed and the power supply board totally resoldered.

I can't answer your earlier question because we changed a couple
of things, but once we set the machine up, it held it's alignments
really well. Based on the test tape and the tapes you sent us, it
also took the trip down remarkably well.

I'll let you know when the record comes out... probably in April.
Jim Gaines will probably mix it at Ardent in Memphis.
