Default 1176-SA Battery Question

Hello;

I have an old 1176-SA which calls for a 1.4v mercury battery(AA). I
can use a standard AA, however, it does no provide long life like the
mercury. I notice that the newer 1176SA's require a 9v battery.

What is required to convert my older unit to 9v power? I was just
thinking of placing a resistor in series with the 9v and making sure I
get the required 0-1 volt output between both rca jacks, which is
spec'ed in my 1176SA operating instructions.

Does anyone have a schematic of a modern UA 1176SA?

Thank you very much
