Default Any recommendations for a studio to master my songs?

I am almost finished working on my self-produced album
(www.guestroomproject.com). I recorded it all in my project studio, on my
Yamaha AW4416 workstation. By the way, I'm a complete newbie in the studio,
I am pretty much learning everything as I go along.

I know this is a little lower-tech than this newsgroup usually deals with,
but I think i'm going to be needing a mastering studio to do a once-over on
my songs before sending it to a CD house to get pressed.

One major drawback with the AW4416 is that the CDs it burns are of very low
volume compared to commercially produced music. It's a common and
well-known problem in the AW4416 community. Many people are okay with it,
but I'd like to get the volume up a little. So I was hoping a studio
mastering would help this

Also, I don't have the knowledge to master it in other ways, such as making
the mix sound good on different speakers, making a nice commercial overal
EQ, etc...

So I think I need to get it mastered. Do you all agree? Any
recommendations on who to do it? I don't know how much this type of thing
costs, but I'd like to keep it around $500 (is that reasonable? I could
maybe up that a little).

£ Î Z @ R Ð,

(May I call you £ Î Z @ R Ð?)

The music is very good. This is an example of the playing being the
priority. Keep up the good work, and all the best to you.

You may want to try http://www.fatnsassymastering.com/. He did some
stuff for me and did a really nice job. He's also pretty reasonable.

I may want to assist you with the sonic aspects of this, but I do not
want to guarantee that a CD will press/copy correctly, I can however
supply one that probably will.

"No cure no pay" conditions are ok, but "no pay" conditions are not, I
can not offer you a free ride. Contact me if you want a free demo mp3 of
any 1 of the songs and let me know what it is that you envision
obtained.

Kind regards

Peter Larsen
