The only ribbon mics I have are the Sank M260, a couple of standard
M260s, and a couple of M160s. I like the M160s on screechy fiddles and
sometimes use the M260s on brass and instrument amplifiers.

The only reason I had the M260 out for the session with the Mali
musician was that the guy who brought them over (who's a decent
producer himself even if he does play the banjo) suggested that a
ribbon might be nice on the n'goni because it was very bright. I
ended up using a KM84 because we thought it sounded better, and only
pulled out the Sank M260 again when setting up for the bass instrument
that needed more bottom.
