I've been glancing at the this thread for a while, and annoyance
overcomes trepedation: would you mind defining a few of your terms
for the benefit of those who might not know all the standard
abbreviations of acoustics? This is a general forum, after all, and
it's not a sign of weakness on your part to eschew only talking to
insiders, rather a sign of strength.

You might also confirm whether by "particle velocity" you really mean
local continuum velocity.

Bob Cain can't define or explain what he means because he doesn't know what
he means. All he is doing at this point is fabricating totally meaningless
terminology and pulling equations out of thin air. What he is saying
doesn't make sense because it is literally nonsense. I too was fooled
into thinking that Bob Cain was attempting to present the beginning of a
meaningful analysis. I then realized that the real analysis was done for
Bob by zigoteau in a previous thread. If you are inerested in the real
analysis, I suggest that you read zigoteau's posts. They are, however,
lengthy, and you will have to edit out all of Bob Cains naive and mostly
senseless and irrelevant questions and comments. I found the best way to
do this was to copy/past all of zigoteau's posts into msword and edit out
everything but the mathematical analysis and then print it out.
