I've got a problem here (or so it seems). Tried downloading the impulse
responses for Acoustic Mirror from Sony's site (I have a legal, registered Sound Forge 7.0a program that has Acoustic Mirror). Unfortunately, there are no IR's that load with the program (at least I don't have any that show in the drop down list in AC). Hoping to rectify this state of affairs, I tried to download the HUGE file of IR's available from Sony's site. It's something like almost 60 meg. Being on a 56k dialup, I figured that I'd d'l them this weekend. Problem is that I keep getting a page that comes up with an http 500/100 error and also says something about there being a possibility of an incomplete URL. Nowheres in this process do I get anything that says I have to login, provide a password or serial number. Most programs ask for something along those lines when downloading updates or add-ons to a program. Has anybody tried downloading the IR's from Sony's site this weekend (I'm talking Saturday Aug. 14, 2004 on the US East Coast)? Barring being able to get these IR's, are there any recommendations from the cognescenti here on good sites to get IR's from for Acoustic Mirror (free, pay, or otherwise)? Thanks much. -- de Jack N2MPU FN20 Modeling the NYC and NYNH&H in HO and CP Rail and D&H in N Proud NRA member addy: |

I haven't seen any new IR's from Sonic Foundry for at least three years. Did you use the Browse button? Search your computer for files with an *.sfi extension. Here's some good WAV impulses: http://noisevault.com/index.php?page...1fbd037e9 e29 http://www.echochamber.ch/ |

I purchased Acoustic Modeler when it was still stand alone DX product and would love to know if I can use them. Can't suggest anything for your problem but some IR sources a http://www.ressl.com.ar/realreverb/index_old.html#ir http://www.noisevault.com/ http://www.voxengo.com/impulses/ FWIW, Voxengo's Pristine Space, totally rocks. Question: would the IR's have installed automatically or would I have had to select them specifically for installation? Thanks for the url's. Noise Vault has a ton of good stuff. I wish my German was up to snuff to translate the echo chamber pages. Acoustic Modeler works fine with .wav files containing IR's. Does the latest version that comes with Sound Forge support the extraction of 32 bit IEEE IR's from 32 bit IEEE sweep response data? Or 24 bit integer? My original store bought A.M. doesn't go above 16 bits and with the incorporation of it into Sound Forge, any upgrade path was choked off. That ****es me off almost enough to think about stealing a newer version if I could find one. Bob -- "Things should be described as simply as possible, but no simpler." A. Einstein |

Just download the impulses and use them. If you do want to translate the page just plug the URL into Babelfish and let it translate it for you: http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr |
