Default Trying to ID Warner Bros Cartoon Fanfare

I do this thing with my kids each night at bedtime, the Daddy Show.
For the opening theme, I verbalize a classic fanfare. I'm trying to
find a recorded version of it, but I have no idea what it may be
called. I can hum it, but I can't post a clip of it here.

I THINK it was from Warner Bros cartoons. In fact, I seem to recall
that, in one cartoon, it was played again and again to annoy some
character. It is the kind of "fanfare" that might accompany the
entrance or exit of some character to the stage.

It is NOT the standard WB cartoon open/close theme, although it has
the same beat and orchestration.

I'll make my best attempt to convey how it goes, in writing, on the
off-chance that sombody will recognize it. And even better, to give
its name, or a source for it!

Here's an attempt to give the notes of the main melody, arbitrarily in
the key of A. Visualize it as the same speed as the WB cartoon open
music. First 2 lines, 8 beats per line. Lines 3,4,5,6 are 4 beats per
line:

B A BB A C
C# A C#C# A D
C# F# C#, F#EF#
C# F# C#, F#EF#
C# F# C#C#
A E A

The chords underpinning this melody, again arbitrarily in A:
D Daug
A(E bass) F#
Bm (or B)
Bm (or B)
Bm (or B) E
A

And here's a lame attempt to verbalize it:

Dah doo dahdah doo dahhh
Dah doo dahdah doo dahhh
Dah doo dut, da-da-da
Dah doo dut, da-da-da
Dah doo dah-dah dahhh (on last dahhh, gliss down then up)

And they sometimes added a short sting at the end, very fast and
brief:
Notes: EE E F# Aflat A -- A(octave down)
Chords: E -- A
Verbal: Duh duh doo dut-dut-dut, boom

Can anybody recognize this? "Oh, I know what tune he means...!"

I have several LVs full of Warner cartoons. If you could name one of these
cartoons, I might be able to find it.

Alas, I have nothing to go on. I have a vague memory that some
character, maybe Bugs or Daffy, was annoying some other character with
it.

I can't get it from your description, but there's an album full

Damn. I listened to many samples, starting with your link, but not the
song I want. The irony is, EVERYBODY who heard me hum it would say,
Oh, I know that song...

I know that song just by your description, which I enjoyed going through,
btw.

But, that's where my contribution ends... I don't know what it's called, who
it's by, or anything else about it.

Best,

Neil

Make a recording of you humming it and post that somewhere so we can
listen.

If I can make a recording of me humming it, can anybody walk me
through ingesting it, and maybe even give me a tiny bit of space (it's
very brief) to post it, so I can link to it?

This is driving me nuts.

Probably the easierst and most straightforward is to shoot a short
video clip and post on YouTube.

You can upload an audio file to a "one-click-hoster" site and post the
according download link here. The file will be deleted automatically after a
certain time or number of downloads. That way, you don´t have worry about
that file hanging around on youtube "forever"...

I regularly use http://yousendit.com for exchanging audio files with other
people. Their limits (for free services) a 7 days OR 100 downloads.
Otherwise, http://megaupload.com also works.

You might also want to make a post about this on the
'rec.arts.animation' newsgroup.

I think you're going to have to find someone with a big collection of
Warners cartoons, and start browsing them.
