there's a room, about 10m x 10m x 3m, that should be equipped with a
projection system and 5.1 audio for small groups (10 people). The main
purpose is the presentation of multi-media data and movie sequences. The
budget for speakers and amp should not exceed 6000 euros, the lower the
better. Has anyone an idea how to solve this? I'm not even sure whether
to look for low-end professional or higher level consumer equipment. I
definitely don't care about gold-plated power cords, but consumer
hardware tends to sound either biased or it has all kinds of unnecessary
but expensive features. Any hints or links to websites that deal with
this kind of audio setup are appreciated.

My only suggestions are put as much of your buying $$$ into speakers as you
can...and don't forget to acoustically treat your room.
