Hello,
I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver which I've hooked up with my older Kenwood system. Unfortunately, as far as using the Kenwood's learning remote goes, my Kenwood must be outdated, because it would not pick it up. Recently I was surfing the Microsoft web site and read some thing on the XP media center package. Has anyone ever set this up at home? It sounds pretty cool if you know what you are doing. My only concern is a. Not sure if Yamaha systems will work with MC and b. Even if they do, I am not sure if it is any point in going through the trouble of setting it up, as the system does not pick up the rest of the components. I'd like to hear back from those who have set up the Media Center package at home. Is really worth the trouble? apkesh |

But at last I found someone asking more or less the same question ! Is *anyone* using XP Media Center ? Graham |

I'd like to hear back from those who have set up the Media Center package at home. Is really worth the trouble? I have a friend who is very excited with his. He showed it to me the other day and I was a little less than impressed. Sure, it can record TV shows, but so can a VCR. It reminded me of a glorified TIVO. a. Not sure if Yamaha systems will work with MC and What do you mean? I'm not too familiar with the workings of the Media Center, but I know he has his plugged up into a home stereo boom box type system. I assumed that there is an audio output on the machine that plugs into an input on your stereo. Are you referring to the Media Center remote? If you have any specific questions I can ask my friend about them; he's pretty savvy and will undoubtedly have an answer. |
