I'm looking for opinions on the Benchmark Media mic preamps.
I am about to buy 16 channels of mic preamps, and am leaning towards either 16 channels of FMR Really Nice Preamp, or 8 channels of the FMR RNP and 8 channels of somethine else like the Audient ASP-008 8 channel mic preamp. Another option would be the Benchmark Media MF-1 MicroFrame with 16 channels of MP-2 mic preamps. This would be 16 channels of mic pre in a 1U rack. These MP-2 mic preamps are SMT versions of the mic preamp circuits in the Benchmark Media MPS-400. Has anyone had any experience with these Benchmark Media mic preamps, the MPS-400 or the MP-2 in the MF-1 MicroFrame? And, can you compare the sound quality to the FMR RNP? I will be using the preamps for recording bands, drums/guitars/vocals, in live and studio situations. Thanks, Simon Canberra AUSTRALIA |
