Hello all,
Just one of my Little Question.. Here it is: What is your prefered
music
album (CD or LP). You know that's the one that you will bring with you
on a desert island. Of course this desert island must have electricity
so you can use your Hi-Fi gear.

AL Kooper Mike Bloomfield: Sooper Session
Bruce Springsteen: Born To Run
Mannheim Steamroller:Fresh Aire 3

Wow, a point of agreement.

Ah, the power of the arts! :-)

Well that's sorta the point of all the equipment, ain't it?

Absolutely!

In your opinon, if you had to choose 6 classical music performances,
what would they be?

Well, besides the three already mentioned"
Tchaikovsky 4 Bernstein/NY Columbia/Sony
Mozart Serenade K.361/370a Netherlands Wind Ensemble Philips
Dvorak Cello Concerto DuPre

Hmmm, kinda surprised not to find any Beethoven, Bach, Rachmaninoff, or
Sibelius in your list. But everybody's taste is different.

It's hard to pick just 6, of course. I don't know how I would live
without the Bach Cantatas (which I'm presently collecting) for example.
I chose my six based on not only the works, but the performances as
well. For example, limited to six, I would't ordinarily include the
Dvorak, the JD just GOES OFF on it, and the passion of that performance
would be valuable on the desert island!
:-)

Any comments on the work of Loris Tjeknavorian?

I only know him from his recordings of his countryman Khachaturian,
which are very good.

I have enjoyed 2 works
he did on the Chalfon label, Sheherazade and Beethoven Symphony No. 5
in C-minor, both on Chalfont LP's.

thanks; I'll check them out.
