Hmmm, kinda surprised not to find any Beethoven, Bach, Rachmaninoff, or
Sibelius in your list. But everybody's taste is different.

It's hard to pick just 6, of course. I don't know how I would live
without the Bach Cantatas (which I'm presently collecting) for example.
I chose my six based on not only the works, but the performances as
well. For example, limited to six, I would't ordinarily include the
Dvorak, the JD just GOES OFF on it, and the passion of that performance
would be valuable on the desert island!

Any comments on the work of Loris Tjeknavorian?

I only know him from his recordings of his countryman Khachaturian,
which are very good.

I have enjoyed 2 works
he did on the Chalfon label, Sheherazade and Beethoven Symphony No. 5
in C-minor, both on Chalfont LP's.
