Think I found it - R2 opamp o/p series 33R resistors
where blown, sending opamps well on the way to 'open
loop'. Presumably somebody has plugged a large (speaker
level?) signal back into the inserts. Both channels.

The dangers of the use of 1/4 jacks for both speaker and line level
signals, I take it.


And the dangers of school students using audio gear. Mind you, they don't
have a monopoly on doing silly things ...
