I second the answer on the DDX3216. You could get this and one or two 8
channel AES/EBU I/O boards for the desk. The mixer has 16 built-in
converters on each of the16 input channels. You could assign each to one of
the 16 busses. You could then assign the busses to your AES/EBU sends. These
should be capable of interfacing with SPDIF.
