You're correct. He died about 4 years ago, IIRC. A really nice guy and
a good clarinet player as well. And a hell of a writer.

I read his book "Deep Blues", which I liked a lot. He was also in a
documentary by Robert Mugge about the blues, which I'm pretty sure they
titled "Deep Blues" as well. Both Robert Palmers were good guys.

Yes they were.

The only time I saw Robert Palmer the singer was when he was a
long-haired co-singer with Elkie Brooks in the British "blues" band
(there's that word again) Vinegar Joe. They opened for Wishbone Ash in
1974. Both he and Elike were prettly good "belters".
