Dear r.a.h-e contributor,

Thank you for submitting your post to the newsgroup. However, it
violates the Posting Guidelines, since it contains language that could
be interpreted as inflammatory (introducing blind tests in a non blind
test thread). We will be glad to reconsider your
article if you resubmit it while keeping this in mind. Best regards,

************* end of the rejection letter*************

The post I was responding to is titled "THE AUDIOPHILE PRESS" and can be
found in google starting with this post:

http://www.google.com/groups?selm=NJQ1b.238289%24uu5.47499%40sccrnsc04

Remember that the RAHE moderator specifically claimed that I introduced
blind tests in a non-blind test thread.

Now, here are just a few of the posts in the same thread (according to
google) that mention blind tests:

Notably, the first post in the thread says:

http://www.google.com/groups?selm=NJQ1b.238289%24uu5.47499%40sccrnsc04

"What does this mean - DBTs. Audiophiles don't care."

and then...

http://www.google.com/groups?selm=2EK5b.168627%242x.47633%40rwcrnsc52.op s.as
p.att.net

"With respect to DBTs, I have closely followed discussions about this
topic in this forum for more than 4 years. I believe that all but a
fraction of audiophiles don't care one way or another about DBTs.
Certainly there is nothing wrong at all about being in the minority.
But I have come to the conclusion (for me) that while there may be
useful purposes for DBTs in research and other esoteric applications I
have never seen any illustration in this forum or elsewhere how DBTs
can be of *practical* use to mainstream audiophiles. Audiophiles seem
to love to talk about DBts but won't or can't apply them to the real
world of buying/comparing audio equipment for the purposes of
listening to real music. Even staunch disciples of DBTs that I have
quizzed in this forum over the years don't use DBTs in there audio
equipment purchases even though they may lambast those who believe
DBts to be irrevocably flawed. It's not that they are not principled
with respect to their belief in DBTs. It's that DBTs are not a
practical tool for even zealots who care about them."

and then...

http://www.google.com/groups?selm=V5U5b.266586%24cF.83849%40rwcrnsc53

"How about the fact that no one has passed a properly conducted DBT on
two cables with similar measurements? I would think that every
mainstream audiophile should find this result very practical."

"Or how about reading that a well-known high-end salesman could not tell,
in a DBT, a Pass amp from a Yamaha integrated amp, even though the the
former costs more than 10 times the latter? Why wouldn't you, as an
audiophile, find that result very interesting and practical?"

"Now you are contradicting yourself. You said that "all but a
fraction of audiophiles don't care one way or another about DBTs", and
then you said audiophiles love to talk about DBT's. Which is it?"

"Why is that strange? There is a difference between not doing a test for
practical reasons, and saying that the test is flawed. No one has been
lambasted for not doing a DBT. One does not have to do a DBT to
understand the principles behind the DBT."

"No one has said that you have to do a DBT to choose equipment."

and then...

http://www.google.com/groups?selm=JHh6b.372231%24Ho3.55916%40sccrnsc03

"The reason for Robert Lang's attitude is quite simple.
You assume an unproven hypothesis: ' DBT/ABX is THE proven test for
testing differences in music reproduction between audio components' "

"ABX does not work for me. It does not mean that it does not
work for you. We are all different- we're all "subjective subjects"

"P.S. The remainder of your text quoted below validates that
DBT as a universally applicable audiophile "test"is a belief not a
fact"

--- and many more ----

But, you read it here, according to our friendly neighborhood RAHE modertor,
I'm paranoid and the dozens of other references to DBTs in the thread I
posted to are simply figments of my imagination.

I proud of the other typos I found that I didn't point out, sockpuppet
Wheel.

Could you be more pathetic?

Yes, after Sept 20 you will be even more pathetic sockpuppet Wheel.

For the record I hope to be on vacation in the north woods of Michigan about
then. Tell your process server he can find me in or about the Porcupine
Mountains.

Both of which could be considered "computer equipment": (if someone
else were making the above claim, this is what Arnold would likely
say).

Just goes to show that Weil is so desperate to pick nits that he'll claim I
made an error when I anticipate his weirdness and explain it in advance.

BTW, I do have audio equipment in the basement when the Nomad is on my

I read this on RAHE :

"I've often thought that if we eliminated (primarily because they've
become too predictable and boring) the discussions that invariably
devolve into DBT debates, ie. cables, equipment "burn-in", amplifiers,
green pens, etc., there would be precious few threads worth following."

Predictables and boring !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fact of the matter Sockpuppet Wheel's incompetent writing and nonstandard
post formatting is a cross that all who try to respond to him have to bear.
I suspect that he's a sadist who sits back and laughs at people who try to
make sense out of what he posts. Either that, or he's mentally incompetent,
probably suffering with the heartbreak of senile dementia.

On September 20th I was as promised, camping in Michigan's Porcupine

Little Escarpment River.

It looks to me like Sockpuppet Wheel is preparing to walk into a trap I've
set for him. If he does what says he plans, he could well be walking into
formal charges for mail fraud. I'm tired of screwing around with his

I think my time spent hiking in Yosemite and the many day trips into the
natural wonders on my visit to New Zealand were probably vastly superior
experiences. that's afew off the top of my head. This is , of course, where
Arny jumps in claiming I am a liar and asking for proof that he would never

Well, its up to you, but you might cut Arny some
slack on wilderness experiences. I’ve canoed
some of the same Canadian waters as he.
Mistakes in judgement can kill you in minutes

Yes it is up to me to decide for myself what makes for the better out door
experiences. I don't need your permission. I'll take the outdoors in New
Zealand and Yosemite over Michigan every time.

Wow a regular thrill seeker. If you or Arny want to impress me with your
wilderness adventures go climb Everest or something else with a serious
risk.Arny's trip to the woods does not impress me.

Really what? Is this the result of some learning disability? Did I say I am a
risk taker? I think people who climb Everest are fools. You were bragging about
being some weekend wilderness Rambo guy. I was simply pointing out that your
river rides in Cananda don't impress me. Fools tak serious risks on purpose
IMO. Do you want to brag about some foolish outdoorsmanship? go ahead. come up

You haven't been paying attention again, I can see. Or maybe you
have, but your comprehension skill is as fractured as your
self-expression skill.

When you are talking with people in real life, do you use the same
stunted syntax and murky language to communicate? Or maybe you're
the world's only 66-year-old altar boy and your responsibilities
begin and end with keeping a pack of matches handy for Father
Claptrap to light the candles......

Indeed, Arny rows a canoe.
The only paddling Arny does is when he is in his

Just 2 plain ole 17' grummies, albeit the lighter (66#) ones made with
hardened aluminum. I bought them in the days when the portaging crew was
mostly under 16 so durability and possible expendability was a big issue. As
soon as portaging 'em gets to be a problem, I'll consider something lighter.
