Is it possible to use the "mike in "plug on a sound card for lp copying
etc.There is no line in on the sound card,only a line out ,speaker outputs
and the mike plug

Not really. Typically the mic input is mono, and has poorer sound quality
than one would expect from a line input on the same card, were that card to
actually have a line input.

If you are interested in sound quality, you might want to replace the sound
card. Good, relatively cheap widely available sound cards for LP taping
include the Sound Blaster Audigy OEM and the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.
