Try measuring the SPL at a circus this summer. We stopped going when our
son was about 8, because of a Ringling Bros. performance in L.A. that
was simply ear-splitting. They refused to turn down the level. I didn't
have my meter with me---had never needed it before in a lifetime of
circus-going.
