Excellent stuff.

You heard about the drummer who locked his keys in his car
during the load-in, right? It took him an hour to get the bass
player out of the car.

I tried to make it fit rythm, couldn't ... there aren't many bass players
that are proficient in Norgaard ... thanks!

You missed the Jack Bruce Special. When you play a bunch of wrong
notes. Play them again exactly the same, pretending you meant to play
them like that.

What did the bassist do when his teacher told him to turn his
amplifier on?

He caressed it softly and told it that he loved it.

What do you throw to a drowning bassist?

His amp.

Years ago I saw the Moscow Philharmonic playing here in London. They
had two double bass players, and both of them had bottles of vodka by
their stands, which they finished (drinking straight from the bottle)
in the course of the evening.

But they were capped by a pianist who played the Emperor concerto. He
managed to come on stage with his shirt buttoned up wrong. He noticed
just as he started playing, and fixed one button at a time during his
pauses. By the time he finished, his shirt was buttoned properly.
Total star.

In one band, I had a killer keyboard rig with lots of low end, and I
really ****ed the bass player off.

Better than the unseemly rush to the pub after the concert to get one in
before closing time.
