Hi everyone,

A couple of quick questions that my research hasn't solved yet:

1) Can you use the mackie control extender by itself without the
control universal?

2) I have a mackie onyx satellite and I'm trying to configure a
surround setup on my macbook pro using it. While all 6 outputs work
perfectly well in Logic Pro and my other audio programs, dvd player
will not recognize the onyx's surround capability. I set up the
speakers in the Audio/MIDI setup but that has had no effect. I also
tried all of this with a friend's firepod to no avail. Anyone know how
to get this working?

3) I'm trying to pick up a control surface for under a grand and I'm
leaning toward the HUI. Does anyone still use one of these? Has anyone
had compatability issues or other annoyances with it? I'm working with
Protools LE 7.1 and Logic Pro 7.2.
