Default The best sounds I've heard on a CD

Mercury 475 6867 - Hanson conducting Hanson
From a tonal POV, this is the best I've heard on my system.

Has anyone else heard it?

Seriously, I am going through my LPs now. I'm sure I don't have that
title on CD, but I have many, many Mercury and Golden Imports LPs. I
may have it there, but that defeats the point of your question. One
would have to presume, though, that the LP probably sounds good too.
Do you have a vinyl copy for comparison?

5,000 LPs and a not-very-good cataloging system. Plus, I just picked
up another 1,500 or so LPs yesterday from a retired classical pianist
who's moving. No idea what's in there yet...

No, sad to say, but I'm starting to look for them (it's a 4 cd set)

Is that one the 2nd Symphony?
that's a good cd.

but I would rate other mercs and some RCA's higher.
but the BEST is Mapleshade/Wild Child, Mojo,
by Big Joe Maher, with Mapleshade/WildChild, Chicken Fried Music(???)
by the Joe Stanley sextet in second place, with Chesky, Cephas and
Williams, third.
