my PC produces poor quality audio when playing youtube videos. The
sound is 'bubbly'. The PC is based on an oldish biostar motherboard with 1.4G AMD Duron and 500Mb ram with Win XP Pro. I know it's old but it does everything else quite well, and plays mp3 and wav files fine. I know the problem is with my PC because I have another PC in the same room (a 3G P4) on the same broadband connection and it plays youtube audio smooth and clear. Is there any patch or fix that could correct this problem? My AMD PC has midiman Delta 44 audio and I have the very latest drivers installed. Thanks for any help. |

People don't view Youtube videos for the sound quality. It sounds like that for everyone on all computers. I've browsed Youtube on dozens of computers and they all sound "bubbly". It is a result of the very heavy compression. |

The sound and video on Youtube is generally poor to begin with due to the
high compression and use of low bandwidth. But, if you are having lack of smoothness, and if the sound is unacceptable on one computer and not the other, both computers are using the same software, then the only thing left is hardware. -- JANA _____ "tg" wrote in message ... my PC produces poor quality audio when playing youtube videos. Update your Flash player? yeah thanks I tried that, no difference. I got a feeling it's the adobe flash software doesn't like older via chipsets. |

I've never before heard anyone use any form of the word "clear" in the same sentence with "youtube audio". (Or "youtube video" either, for that matter :-) Congratulations on your success. I'd certainly attempt removal of all the Flash player software and re-installation of the current stuff from scratch. |

Most if not all YouTube videos encode the audio in a format that is a ton less than "hi fi". |

I think he means "less worse". ';-) I'd certainly attempt removal of all the Flash player software and re-installation of the current stuff from scratch. Agreed. There are probably other differences between the two PCs, like maybe different speakers. |
