Great show on right now on TMCW. Rock/pop artists talking about the
present day music business and its problems: Sting, Joni Mitchell, Annie Lennox, Peter Gabriel, David Crosby, Patti Smith, et al. How the business stinks, how lyrics don't matter anymore, how there is no artist development, how the record companies just promote a look rather than a sound, meaningful lyrics, etc. Very interesting and recommended. It plays (at least here) again in the middle of the night for TIVO purposes. Also of interest a jazz singer buddy and colleague of mine, Inga Swearingen is on Prairie Home Companion on the radio today. She's a FANTASTIC jazz singer. She's a part-timer at my college. A real treat to listen to. |
