These mics have been modified by Jim Williams. I believe he removes
the transformer, among other things. The result is a super fast and
detailed sound ...while retaining that AKG sizzle. I think they sound
most similar to 4011s than any other mic i've heard. If you use that
for a reference, ymmv.
