Default Copyright question : in which country do I have to register?

Hi all!

I m french, used to live in France but now in Canada for 1 year.

I ll released an album soon, and I m unsigned.

Just wanna know if U guys know in which country do I have to be linked
to?

I mean, there R 2 companies in France fro copyright, SACEM & SNAC, but
I m not sure they ll be able to give me any kind
right proctection now as I live in Canada.

It might be important so I have to say I m still not a permanent
resident as I m just here for a 1 year visa,
after that period, I ll go back to France.

Hope I was precise enough for U to answer.

I thought SACEM was a PRO (performance rights organization) which collects
royalties (different from registering copyright). If it's a PRO you need, I
believe CAPAC is the Canadian equivalent to the US ASCAP or BMI.
