I'm looking for a new studio "workstation" keyboard in the 61 key size.
I boiled it down to two choices, the Triton LE 61 and now the Yamaha Motif 6. The Triton is a bit cheaper and it fits the physical space I have with my existing furniture. I was pretty sure it is what I wanted, went to the store to go get it. While I was there, I got a demo of the Motif 6 and I have to say, the sound quality of the Motif 6 was head and shoulders above the Triton. I even compared against the top of the line Triton Studio 88, the Motif sounds are far nicer. Of course it is more cash and it doesn't fit the space very well, since it is much taller and deeper. So I didn't walk out with it that day, needing to figure out if it I can live with the physical fit of the Motif. I'm not terribly proficient on keys, good enough for setting up sequences and the like. I have to say the data sheets for the keyboard systems these days make my head spin. Any thoughts on Motif vs Triton LE? I'm also curious how the built USB-Midi on the Motif works with the Mac under 9 and perhaps X. -- Dr. Nuketopia Sorry, no e-Mail.
