Default Why won't my Windows Sound Recorder record from the mike?

Hi,

Has anybody encountered this problem before?

I can play an audio CD in my CD-ROM and use Windows' Sound-Recorder to
record some of the CD, but the Sound-Recorder will not record from my
mike, although the mike is active and sends my voice through my
speakers.

It's probably some little tweak somewhere that's needed.

Note that the recording level in Audio Properties is not at zero.

Thanks.
