I've been asked by my employer to spend up to $5000 on a system that
should be portable and will cover up to a 200 seat house. We are thinking Mackie or JBL... possibly Turbosound. I am open to suggestions. We will be producing acoustic acts, and jazz, bluegrass...etc... with very little rock and very loud music. We want good fidelity. We are in Northern california. Powered speakers or not? Brands? Positives and negatives? We have a mixer (Mackie CFX 16 mk2) and mics... we need a snake (100') and mains speakers and 2 more 10' powered monitors... (we have two already.) How best to spend this chunk of $$ ? Anything I've overlooked? We have been producing shows in a fixed location for three years and are now goig out and doing shows in different venues, so versatility is a plus. We are a small company and so simplicity is also a plus, but are willing to make sacrifices for high quality sound Any and all suggestions welcome and many thanks! Kai |
