![]() The data wheel on my H3000D/SX has become unresponding. According to technote on Eventide site http://www.eventide.com/technote/techn101.htm , this propably is due to optical encoder gone bad. I tried to vary resistor values as suggested on site, but it didn't help. The part is obsolete, so I thought I'd ask if anyone here happened to have a spare? TIA, -JP |

Maybe that's what Eventide are suggesting when they say send it to them. http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/bro...estid=45 8848 Gareth. |

The component you found looks very promising, it seems to operate on same voltage and looks just the same as original at least. I'll take a closer look at it! -JP |

Odds are you're going to have to make a standard production Cherry or HP one fit in its place. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

Sometimes the pinouts and/or mountings are different though, but often you can get them to work with a little tweaking and/or re-wiring. Good luck. Gareth. |

Yes, propably there is some creative engineering needed, or then I just have to get used to those push buttons ![]() -JP |

wrote: Please let us know if you find a solution. Gareth. I will, but can't rush on this. These kind of interrupters seem to be quite rare e.g. Digikey carries none. The AEDS-962 you mentioned is my best bet this far. Dimensions and pinout are slightly different than in original Sharp GP1A16R http://www.datasheets.org.uk/datashe...rticle=1563875 , but I think it is possible to make it fit. I tried to find the original part from ic2ic.com, but there seems to be only buyers for this item ![]() I tested the H3000 by manually grounding the data outputs of the encoder, in order to produce same kind of pulse that encoder should produce, and it worked. So the fault must be in the encoder. It might be as simple as dead LED emitter, maybe I should demolish my TV remote? ![]() BTW do you know any online store that carries AEDS-962 and would ship to Finland? Farnell UK won't. -JP |

Gareth. ----- Please let us know if you find a solution. Gareth. The optical interrupter/encoder Sharp GP1A038RBKLF arrived from DigiKey and I soldered it into place. The pinout is totally different from the original part, so I had to solder extension wire to every pin, result is not excactly pretty ![]() Mounting was nearly the same i.e. screws did fit and the code wheel fit properly into the gap. Happily the H3000 data wheel works perfect now. Thanks for advice! -JP |
