Supply....they are considered some of the best quality disks out there. I
use them myself.

I used them exclusively (obtained via a Canadian warehouse)
As far as I could judge the quality was excellent with one exception-
quite a few duds.

paid, so that they can be used in standalone recorders.

Jeff, is that what you are thinking of? In a computer drive, a CD-R is
all that is required.

I might come off looking rather ignorant, but I thought they were the
same thing. At least I've never had a problem using CD-R for audio

If you have a stand-alone consumer audio CD burner, then you need audio
(licensed) CDR's.

You can use CD-R for audio when copying on a computer. On a recordable CD
player (stereo component), you need the kind specifically labeled "Audio" or
"Music". They cost slightly more.
