Having an issue with a mix I'm trying to put together.
Here's a short example of a fiddle: http://home.mpinet.net/~muzician/fid...sue/fiddle.mp3 It's midi but decent enough midi that it sounds like a fiddle - you can hear the resonance, the bow on the strings. But here it is in a mix. I boosted the fiddle a bit so you can hear it more clearly: http://home.mpinet.net/~muzician/fiddle_issue/mix.mp3 What happened? It sounds like a cat with a stomach ache more than a fiddle. Takes on a weird wee-aww-wee-aww character. This seems to be the only instrument that has this problem. What can I do to retain the character of the fiddle sound when sitting in the mix? They're mp3's but pretty high quality, what's here accurately represents what the full .wav file sounds like. Using Cakewalk Home Studio, the original midi sounds are Soundfonts played through LiveSynth Pro and recorded as audio. Thanks. |
