The music world lost two yesterday.

Soprano Beverly Sills at age 78. Perhaps the most important opera
figure the U.S. has yet produced.

Lyricist Hy Zaret, who wrote the words to one of the most recorded songs
ever, "Unchained Melody". The song was recorded some 300 times, and was
named one of the 25 most performed songs of the 20th century. Age 99.

Hy Zaret....
William Stirrat, who had -falsely- claimed to have written hit song
Unchained Melody, from a 1955 movie Unchained, died on the -same- day as Hy
Zaret, July 2 - but in 2004! Curious.
