I've got an older MX5050...I assume this is the model preceeding the
MX5050B, which I also have. The 5050B has an internal slide switch to select between speed pairs of 3 3/4- 7 1/2 and 7 1/2-15ips. I have a manual for this machine, so finding it was no problem. I don't have a manual for this earlier machine, and it's quite a different layout inside and I don't see any similar switches. Does anyone know if the earlier 5050 can be switched to accomodate 3 3/4 and how to do it? It has the pitch control just like the 5050B, so obviously the capstan is servo controlled and it also has the 1/4 track playback head mode switch just like the 5050B, so it would seem that low speed playback would also be included. Any help would be greatly appreciated....thanks! |
