Sunfire amp question-Symphonic amp

Sunfire makes an amp which is 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 500
watts per channel into 4 ohms(Symphonic amp series).
I called Sunfire today and the list price of this amp is $1999.00. I see
this amp on Ebay and other auctions for about $700 new. Does anyone have
any information about this amp and why is the retail price so cheap? Is it
a good deal?
