So I just bought a set of four KEF 107/2's for $800 - I figured that
was a great deal! I got home, and the problems began...(I'm using a Denon Reciever, and using the preouts to go into an Adcom GFA-355...instead of biamping, right now I'm just working with it coupled. First pair I hooked up, the right side's tweeter/midrange dramatically overpower the subwoofers. The left side was fairly even, but very very quiet (I had to absolutely crank the volume). I've changed everything in out out (another amp, preamp, source, cords, etc.). I've found now that here is the state of affairs.... Base 1 - Very weak sound compared to the tweeter/midrange Base 2 - Same volume as Base 1, but midrange is much quieter (too quite) as well. Base 3 - Same as Base 1 Base 4 - No sound from the base, transmits to the tweeter/midrange I've also discovered that 2 of the tweeters don't work at all - the midrange does, but no the tweeter. Please, anyone with thoughts, I really need some help. |
