Default Power Conditioners

I don't think you have to go dbt with them as either you hear it or you
don't. Lots of people hear worse.
Last year I posted asking if anyone knew of a unit by Fisch out of
Germany. What I heard with it was amazing. This was on the stores demo
unit they got in on Marsh Preamp and amp, Linn CD player, and Soliloquy
6.5 speakers. The sound was truly life-like. When we switched from the
Fisch unit to the wall, the dynamics were gone. It was just plain dead
music. Flat. Back to the Fisch, and there was 3D'ism as close as I've
heard. I didn't walk out with one as this was a demo unit that the
distributor dropped off with the Marsh and Soliloquy's. Months went by
before they finally got a shipment in. I rushed home with it waiting to
hear what amazing things it would do with my equipment.
What a disappointment that was. In my system, it took away the highs. I
went back and forth to ensure I was hearing what I was. My wife who was
ou tin teh kitchen came in asking what I was doing as the music would go
from normal to missing highs.
From that post I could only surmise what a few others did, not all high
dollar equipment has well regulated power supplies. Apparently Marsh was
one of them. It helped the Marsh stuff but not mine.
I have an Adcom Ace surge suppressor that I paid $5 for brand new and it
works as a surge processor. I can't hear any difference with it in or
out of my system. I also have a big isolation transformer or something
akin to one made by Ac ONE and it doesn't make a difference either.
I checked out a Richard Gray unit at another place and couldn't hear a
difference with it in or out of the system.
Probably the best thing you can do if possible is run a dedicated line
to your system.
