I want to make sure I understand what's happening to my Adcom GTP
Tuner/Preamp. It has a signal strength meter on it. It has both 300 and 75 ohm connections for an FM antenna. I've been fiddling around trying to get one fm station (91.9). I've tried the cheapo dipole, I've tried a radio shack amplified thingy. My house is stucco, which I think means is covered with wire mesh and is an effective signal barrier. When I move the various antennae around, I get points where there's a low signal strength, and the station comes in (albeit in mono and with static). Alternate positioning gives me a high signal strength on the meter, but NO station playing. Do I have it right that this indicates a high signal but the tuner is canceling out the station because of multi-path interference? Thanks |
