Default Need a tweeter for a Pioneer HPM-40

Hi,

I picked up a pair of Pioneer HPM-40 speakers at a thrift store for
almost nothing. Seemed like a good deal for the price.

One of the speakers has a bad tweeter. The model number printed on the
back is 45-710A. The other one works fine.

Where can I find a replacement? Do I need the exact same model number,
or is there something else that will sound just as good?

Thanks,
Frank

I have a pair of HPM-40's that I use in my 5-1 AV system. I got them
at a thrift store for almost nothing and one of the supertweeters was
out. These tweeters are actually a kind of piezo and driven with a
small transformer. It is not easy to find a suitable replacement.

I fixed mine by improving the contact between the polymer film and the
aluminum rails that the film is sandwiched between.

There are some pictures he

Pioneer HPM parts are almost always available on EvilBay. Prices
fluctuate; but most go for premium.

I bid for almost three years before I won a pair of woofers for my
HPM-100's for less than $75.
