I am purchasing for a college dorm room, and a rather small one at that. The room is set up so that the dresser (which the speakers would be on) faces the seating areas, which are a couch on the floor and a lofted platform with more seats. I imagine that, with the speakers on the dresser, the platform gets perfect sound while the couch suffers slightly in the tweeter detail. Also another idea just hit me. The room is too small to do a decent 5.1 configuration (because behind the couch is the wall), so I've been thinking it's better not to bother with rears and center. If I do, I could put the "fronts" on the floor to either side of the couch, pointing the wrong way. Any thoughts on this? Kind of - um - echhh. The 4408s(or a simmilar large bookshelf like a Tannoy MXm2 or B&W 602) will sound fine and they are only 18-24 inches tall, not such a problem on either side of the TV,(foot or so away for interference, though) |
