Hi folks -
I'm going to be recording a friend of mine tomorrow night, mostly for fun, and my weakest link right now is my monitoring setup. He'll be in another room from my DAW, at the other end of a 50ft snake. What I'm thinking of doing is running the headphone line out of my interface into a headphone amp, then run one of the outputs from the headphone amp into one of the unused channels on the snake, effectively turning that channel into a 50ft long headphone extension cable. On the other end, an XLR to stereo jack will be used to plug the headphones in. What I'm worried about is the 50ft snake, and what kind of higgledypiggledy it's going to play with the sound quality. I know this is far from the ideal way to do things, but will it work well? Thanks - jatougas |
