Default PC-M-audio card or DVD player.

Hello,
Currently I own a PC with a high-end M-audio sound-card.
I wonder, if it really makes sense, buying a proper dvd-player, like the NAD
512.
Harry.

Sure, assuming the 512 does DVD-A and the PC doesn't, and you want the
PC to be in a different room than the home theater/hifi.

My PC is reserved only used for hometheatre, in my living room:
.. mp3pro / mp3 player
.. dvd player, using powerdvd.
.. internet etc.
Its connected to a Sony strb930 receiver, with a NAD C270 poweramp to boost
(because the sony's is really not good enough)
the front infinity kappa-100 speakers, B&W center and MFB rear channel.

Harry.

Well, I guess the next question is what you would like your system to do
better than it does now. FWIW, I've seen low prices for the NAD, so it
wouldn't cost much to try a comparison. It doesn't do DVD-A, unless I
missed something.

I would think the NAD interface preferable to using a PC, but if you're
already using the latter, I assume that's not your problem.

Good luck! Sorry not to be more help.
