Default Opinions on Tanberg gear from the 1970's?

I started a speaker company in 1970.
I subscribed to Audio magazine from 1972 to 1980 and read the anual
cataloging of all audio products.
I am an electrical engineer and circuit designer for 30 years, mostly
medical and aerospace switching power supplies.

I am now thining back to a $1200 Tangberg receiver and $1000 cassete
deck and how unreliable they were for me.

I got the schematics for the reciever to fix it, and it has diode
switching of analog signals. I have never seen that before or since.

I never really formed an opinion of Tanberg, I just dealt with all the
problems.
What is your opinion?

TIA
Clark
