Raindrops are Falling on My Head.

IMHO, songs that get stuck in one's head are not enjoyable songs. They are
simply mental parasites.

The songs I enjoy the most are invariably ones that DO NOT get stuck in my
head.
They can be a constant process of rediscovery, as opposed to the stale
jingle that was intentionally designed to jam the mental process.

Only if sung by Bette Midler.

Would that include the entire oeuvre of Napoleon XIII?

I didn't know you were a fan of heavy metal.

I dunno.. I find both songs I like and song I don't can be infectious.
They may have a limited mileage, or become lifelong favourites.
The Keane song is cool.. not particularly commercial.. has a hypnotic
piano riff and vocal hook.

The ultimate 'head stuck' song is Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden. Hear it
once. Once. And you will not forget for the rest of the day.

Last night's listening session suggested an "negative earworm," songs
catchy as hell as you hear them but leaving no memory when they're over.
Consider the ouvre of Abba...

Or another topic: songs you recognize by the first few notes, but don't
really know because you reflexively change the channel before hearing
more. Example: U2 "Mysterious Ways".

Been to Disneyland/Toon Town lately?

The one that really bugs me is:

"Second verse - same as the first:
I'm Henery the Eighth I yam
Henery the Eighth I yam I yam..."

Over and over and over again... UGH!
